Almost, But Not Quite
Well, I almost got sent away again. But to Calgary, which would have been infinitely better than some other places I've been sent.
*cough*
Yemen
*cough*
Would have been nice if I'd had the option of saying no in the past, but there's no sense in dwelling on that now. Point is, I'm staying put (with a few trips down to North Carolina here and there), and I'm happy because leaving would have meant nuking any and all chances I had of continuing with domestic work. (Canada is close, but it's still not domestic.) I still do want to do international work, but there's that whole oft-mentioned balance thing that was sorely missing.
Anyway, I'm debating whether or not I return to blogging on a more regular basis. Really, I'm even debating whether or not I should even mention to people that I've put up another post. I really don't think that my life is or should be endlessly fascinating to others, and since I'm home, the people who I try to keep up with are actually here - making the whole thing easier, and blogging a tad superfluous.
But who knows, maybe I'm really a narcissist at heart.
