Dang It!!!!

I brought my gym bag to work so that I could go to my spinning class yesterday. (Mostly because I didn’t think that getting up early was going to work, and I have been trying to make an effort to exercise more regularly – better for my sanity, and my ability to fit into my pants. Especially the ones I had made in Vietnam last summer.)

In any event, I made it to the gym for the noon spinning class. The instructor, however, wasn’t quite as prompt and showed up about 10 minutes later. But we got to work, and despite him being a bit on the cranky side, he was actually a very good instructor and it was a really good, and really hard, workout. In case you’ve never participated in a spinning class, one thing to know is that regardless of who you are, unless you’re not working hard enough, you will sweat. A lot. Therefore, bringing a towel of some kind is highly recommended. After class, I stumbled back to the women’s locker room, and noticed something that I had thought I felt when I was changing for class earlier. The heat was on. It wasn’t just in my head, I wasn’t imagining things – the heat was definitely on. (And not in that Glenn Frey kind of way.)

I peeled off my workout clothes, and rummaged around in my bag for my bath towel so I could go take my shower.

Dammit.

Second only to the stupidity of me forgetting to pack a bra in the mornings, which has happened once, the fact that I had, apparently, forgotten my towel was a regrettable omission. To say the least. So, grasping my hand towel, which I had been using in class, I trudged off toward the showers, with a good amount of irritation and feelings of “eeewwww….”. When I finished my shower, I then attempted to dry myself off with the 18”x6” rectangle of terry cloth. In a hot, and humid locker room. It was an interesting task, one that, however, proved no problem for the teeny little woman who, it appears, intentionally brought only a hand towel to dry off her microscopic body. For me, however, it wasn’t what you would call an ideal situation.

However, I did manage to clean my body and make it back to work in a respectable state. So I suppose I’ll get over it.

Eeee!

So, in a big surprise for me (well, I knew the event was coming, I just didn’t know the particulars), Special K proposed on Friday!!! It was beautiful and romantic, and surprisingly to me, I actually cried. (Proof that I am, in fact, really a girl!) In any case, the rest of the weekend was a whirlwind of family and friends and phone calls and all that good stuff, and it was wonderful.

*le sigh*

I asked him if I actually said “yes”, to which he responded “well, you nodded and mumbled something, so I took that as a yes.” Did I mention I was standing there in my bathrobe with my hair dripping? It was so great – and definitely memorable!

So, in a few months, I’ll be Mrs. Special K. How exciting!! (Both the getting married part and the no-long-engagement part.)
